Back to News

Joseph Magadi has been appointed operations manager by Ufac-UK for their specialist mill near Oakham, Rutland, where he will be responsible for raw material buying, formulation, quality control and production.

He will work alongside Francis Palmer prior to Francis’s retirement in around six month’s time to ensure a smooth changeover.

Mr Magadi, a British Kenyan, has wide experience in the feed industry both in Africa and the UK, having managed mills with up to 90,000 tonnes of feed annually. He is also well-qualified having gained a BSc (Hons) in agriculture at Nairobi University, an MSc in nutrition at Aberdeen University and an MBA at Liverpool University.

Married with four children, he lives in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, where his main spare-time hobbies include reading, gardening, playing badminton and watching football.

"In an increasingly sophisticated feed industry, we are looking to recruit personnel with high levels of technical expertise and experience," commented Robert Jones Ufac-UK’s managing director.

Note to Editors: Ufac (UK) Ltd, based in Newmarket, Suffolk, has particular expertise in dealing with fats and oils, and is a leading supplier of energy supplements to the trade.
