What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit a website. They let a site or service recognise your device and remember information about your visit. Some last only until you close your browser (session cookies), while others stay on your device for a set period (persistent cookies). Cookies set by FarmingUK are first-party cookies, and those set by other organisations whose services run on our pages are third-party cookies. This policy also covers similar technologies, such as pixels and local storage, which work in the same way.
How FarmingUK uses cookies
FarmingUK does not use cookies to track you or to run the site. You can read every article without any FarmingUK cookie being set. The only cookies on our pages come from Google, which we use to deliver the adverts that pay for our journalism, plus one cookie that remembers your cookie choices. We do not use analytics cookies, comment systems or social media tracking. The share buttons on our articles are plain links and set no cookies until you click through to Facebook, X or LinkedIn.
Your choices
When you first visit FarmingUK, a cookie banner lets you accept or reject advertising cookies. You can change your mind at any time by clicking Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. If you reject advertising cookies, you will still see adverts, but they will not be personalised to you and will use no cookies. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. This cookie remembers whether you have accepted or rejected advertising cookies, so we do not ask you on every page. It does not require consent.

Advertising cookies
We use Google Ad Manager to serve adverts. With your consent, Google uses the cookies below to deliver adverts, limit how often you see the same one, measure how adverts perform and show adverts relevant to your interests based on your visits to FarmingUK and other websites.
