Shrewsbury-based agents Halls have completed the sale of 267 acres of productive and versatile arable land at the northern end of the Corvedale in South Shropshire.

The land at Patton House Farm, Bourton, near Much Wenlock, which had a guide price of £5,500 to £6,000 an acre, was sold by informal tender on behalf of Philip and Jenny Wadlow, who retiring.

Shaun Jones from Halls said the property had attracted great interest and the sale was completed "comfortably in excess of the guide price".

Farmed by the same family for more than 100 years, the versatile and fertile land was suitable for winter wheat, oilseed rape, potatoes and grass.
