Back to News

The Country Land and Business Association (CLA) has appointed Oliver Wilson as Director of Communications.

Oliver - who has worked for The British Horse Society as Director of Communications for the past three years - will start the new role at the end of March at the CLA's headquarters, in central London.

He said: "I am very much looking forward to working with the talented team at the Country Land & Business Association. I'm very pleased that I will be able to use my skills and experience in communications and journalism at the CLA to help to secure the future of the countryside."

CLA Director General Adrian Gane said: "We are delighted to be able to welcome Oliver to the CLA where his extensive experience will make a real difference in promoting all our work in supporting the rural economy."

The BHS's Chief Executive Graham Cory said: "Ollie's tenure at the BHS coincided with a period of exceptional growth and greatly increased co-operation with other equestrian organisations. During that time Ollie has done a tremendous job in promoting the message of a rejuvenated and refocused Society to members, potential members and partner organisations, and in improving our internal communications."

Oliver Wilson B.Sc., PDJS (Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism Studies) has been Director of Communications of The British Horse Society since January 2005.

Previously he headed up communications for the Catholic Church in England & Wales, worked in financial communications, and had a long career in journalism as a business writer at CNN Television and national newspaper reporter at the Sunday Telegraph and Express Newspapers.
