A man has died due to a collision with a rolling tractor as it gained momentum down a 'steep hill' in Shropshire.

Emergency services were called to a field off Arbour Lane, in Bishops Castle, at around 1.50pm.

The man became trapped under the vehicle in a field in Bishop's Castle on Monday, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

The man in his 60s, who was the tractor driver, was confirmed dead at the scene, police said.

The fire service said it had attended a road traffic accident involving a "tractor rolling down a steep hill."

West Mercia Police said officers attended the incident off Arbour Lane alongside fire and ambulance crews.

The Health and Safety Executive said it was aware of the incident and was making initial inquiries.
