Back to News

Life Technologies Corporation today announced it has acquired Laboratoire Service International (LSI), a French-based manufacturer of animal health diagnostics.

LSI’s portfolio will be added to Life Technologies’ complementary diagnostic solutions and services and leverage its distribution channels to provide the global market with a wider selection of fast and accurate tools to test for common pathogens and diseases in production animals.

"Combining the breadth of complementary solutions in our respective portfolios will benefit customers in Europe," said Nir Nimrodi, Vice President and General Manager, Food Safety and Animal Health. "LSI offers first-class diagnostic products that will enhance our market presence, while our global reach will provide new channels for these products."

"This is a very exciting development: together we have a much greater research and sales resource than ever before, and that will mean that our customers can expect even better support and more innovative products in the future," said LSI CEO Eric Selall.

Following the acquisition, Life Technologies now provides diagnostic solutions for a wide range of pathogens including:

• For ruminants: BVDV, BTV, MAP, IBR, Q fever, bovine TB,

• For swine: PRRS, PCV2, SIV, Salmonella,

• For poultry: Avian influenza, Newcastle disease, Gumboro disease (IBD)

• For equine: EAV, West Nile virus
